William Pratt, Personal Trainer

I have struggled most of my life with food addiction and obesity. At the age of 16 I had high blood pressure and was considered borderline diabetic. As I got older and heavier the health issues just got worse. I had full blown metabolic syndrome, suffered from severe depression, and was on the highest dose of blood pressure medicine available. At the age of 30 I realized I was slowly killing myself and I began a journey to change. I started with just a walk around the block which was very hard at first. Two months after that I walked in to a new gym that didn’t even have walls yet and decided to join. That gym was Workout anytime Nashville. I received encouragement from the owners and staff on a daily basis. No matter how bad I felt, when I walked in the gym I immediately felt better and ready to work out. I began working with a personal trainer and the workouts were tough but I never gave in. I was pushed to my limits and beyond each time. After a few months of working with my trainer I knew that I wanted to be one. I knew I had the drive, knowledge, and life experience to help others win their weight battles. What exercise does for the body is impressive, but what it does for the mind is priceless! It is my belief that the mind plays the biggest role in someone’s health and a person doesn’t just become morbidly obese because of laziness. If you are willing to focus your energy not only on the physical work but also the mental work, you can achieve amazing and lifelong results. A few years ago I would have never dreamed I could lose over 220 pounds and be where I am today. I’m on no medicines and no longer have any health issues. I truly love what I do. I’m not driven by the numbers on my paycheck but what truly drives me is the look on a client’s face when they know they have just done something they thought was never possible! “If you believe it, you can achieve it!!”
